Many people try to make Christianity about doing this and not doing that and obeying these rules and shunning these things. They make it so hard. But it's not. Jesus broke it down to two commandments:
37 And He said to him, "'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.'
38 "This is the great and foremost commandment.
39 "The second is like it, 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.'
40 "On these two commandments depend some of the Law and the Prophets."
No. He didn't say "some of the law". He said "the whole law". Whole, meaning in it's entirety, 100%, complete, every last bit. In other words, the Bible is simply there to expound on two principles. These two principles are the measuring rod of everything the Bible teaches.
Put simply, keep your perspective and the golden rule: do unto others as you would have them do to you.
Don't take my word for it. Read it yourself.
