Are you a Christian or a Bibalist? Is your life centered around living like Christ or fretting over the letter of the law.
If you are trying to be Christ-like there are a few things to keep in mind:
- To the best of my knowledge the Bible only records 3 groups that Jesus rebuked: Peter once when his thoughts were not of God, the Greek woman whom I personally am convinced he did only to highlight her faith, and the Pharisees many times. Overall, almost all his ministry was encouragement, not telling people what they did wrong. When he did rebuke, it was almost always the religious leaders who received the rebuke, not the average person.
- Do you weigh everything thinking of what Jesus would do? if so
- Do you know what Jesus would do? Do you weigh your understanding of the Bible by your understanding of Jesus?
- Does your understanding of scripture always follow the two commandments Christ said were the basis for the rest?
- Is your life a constant struggle to obey every letter of the law or is it typically trying to find the right way apply the golden rule?
